Boston Pavillion

I had no idea these guys were playing in Boston when I was over there. I’ve wanted to see them live since I was a kid, so I was pretty excited. The venue was fantastic, open air and the weather was perfect. The performace didn’t dissapoint, there was a great band supporting Donald and Walter as they belted out some of their classics.

ICA Boston

The ICA Boston looks very interesting, I am planning to go and check it out next week when I visit Boston again. It is the first building in USA to be built by Diller Scofidio + Renfro. It was inaugurated December 2006. Image taken from Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s site.

So the petition for my work visa for my new job in Boston has been approved. In four days! I am amazed how quickly this occurred. I now have to go to the US embassy in London for an interview and to fill out yet more forms.

It is a big step but one I have been working towards for months now. It is very exciting and the end of an era in London. 6 years of good experiences here have prepared me for what I am about to do in the coming months.

180º Pole to Pole - The identity

I’ve recently had the fortune of working on a great project. 180º Pole to Pole is the journey being undertaken by Rob Gauntlett and James Hooper. They have set themselves the challange of circumnavigating the globe using only manpower, in a bid to raise awareness about climate change. They started at the North Pole a month ago, and are planning to ski/sledge down through Greenland, sail to New York, cycle through north, south and central America, before making the final leg from the tip of Chile to the South Pole in a yacht. Insane? Perhaps. Cool? Extremely. Check the site to see how they are doing.

The first task on this project was to create an identity for the guys, something that would work on a range of applications - from the web to their landrover decals.

I finally got wordpress installed on my website. Now, I learnt a fair amount just doing this. It was relatively easy and I am amazed I have not done this before. Thanks to Zoltan for the inspiration, and Chris (member of webteam at de-construct for further help/inspiration. Ok, so expect some interesting stuff to happen here over the coming months…
